I don't know. I created this blog to find out.
First some background.
I'm retired -- kind of. I'm collecting a pension from a large company. I started collecting my pension because pension plans were changing and I wanted to lock in my benefits.
So I rolled my 401k into a SEP IRA and started to manage that money with Vanguard.
At first, I was semi-passive. That means I divided the funds into a few major broad index funds. However, over time, I've become more involved and spend more time with my investments. I've been a subscriber to Morningstar for years, and lately I've been delving more into the information they provide -- which I think is excellent. (I'm not paid for this endorsement, by the way.)
I began to ask myself, what is my investing strategy, now that I've become more involved. Discipline, as many pundits say, is the key. So, one day, while walking the dog -- when most good ideas occur -- the term zenvesting popped into my mind. I've been thinking about this since that day. So, to materialize what it means, I've decided to start this blog. It may turn into nothing but also may be interesting -- and hopefully lucrative.
This is a stream of consciousness blog. What else are blogs good for? As I come up with ideas, I will post them. No commitment to a regular posting. Chime in. I look forward to an interesting dialog.
